Accessibility
Last reviewed: October 31, 2026
The BFF Club wants everyone to be able to find a walker for their dog, whatever device they use and however they use it. This page explains where we have got to, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us when we have got something wrong.
How accessible this website is
We are working to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which is the standard most commonly referenced in the United States.
This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means most of the site meets the standard, and we know about some parts that do not yet. We would rather tell you that plainly than claim otherwise. We say "partially" rather than "fully" chiefly because we have not yet completed testing with screen readers, which is the part no automated tool can stand in for.
What we have built in
Keyboard access. Every link, button and form field can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing you reach on every page, so you do not have to tab through the whole menu each time.
Visible focus. Whatever you are currently on is outlined clearly, including on our coloured panels where a default browser outline would disappear.
The mobile menu traps focus while it is open and returns you to the button that opened it, so you do not get lost behind it.
Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, our animations and the rotating photographs on the home page stop.
Real page structure. Headings are in a proper order, lists are real lists, and the navigation, main content and footer are marked up as landmarks, so a screen reader can jump between them.
Text alternatives. Photographs carry descriptions, and purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers rather than read aloud as noise.
Labelled forms. Every field has a label that stays visible, and errors are announced rather than only shown in colour.
Colour. Our brand pink and green were both deepened specifically so that text on them meets the contrast minimum, and every page type is checked against the colour actually rendered on screen rather than the colour on paper — our decorative patterns sit over those panels and shift it. We do not use colour alone to convey meaning.
Text can be resized and reflows down to a phone-width screen without a horizontal scrollbar.
What we know is not right yet
We test this site regularly and keep an honest list. At the last review:
Automated testing cannot find everything. Our last sweep found no contrast failures on any page type — the small supporting text that used to fall short has been corrected. But automated tools only catch a portion of real accessibility problems, so a clean result is a floor, not a finish line. The items below are what we know remains.
Our display lettering is flagged by automated tools. The large "sticker" headings are cream with a thick dark outline. Automated checkers measure only the fill colour and cannot see the outline, so they report it as low contrast. We believe it reads clearly, but we are reviewing it rather than dismissing it.
We have not yet completed testing with screen readers and other assistive technology. Our checks so far have been automated testing plus manual keyboard and contrast review. A full manual screen reader audit is the next piece of accessibility work on our list, and we will update this page when it is done.
Services we do not control. Our client portal and booking are provided by Time To Pet, and some content links out to Instagram and Google. We cannot fix accessibility problems inside those services, but please still tell us — we will raise it with them, and we can always help you directly by phone or email instead.
If something does not work for you
Please tell us. You will not be a nuisance, and we would genuinely rather know.

Or use the contact form
Tell us the page you were on and what happened. We aim to reply by the end of the next business day.
And if the website is in your way, it does not have to be. Call or text us and we will book you in, answer questions, and arrange a meet & greet without you touching this site at all. Nobody has to use a website to get their dog walked.
How we tested this site
This statement was last reviewed on October 31, 2026. Our most recent assessment used:
Automated testing with axe-core against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA, run across every page type on the site — home, services, team and individual Buddy pages, service areas, the journal and articles, contact, FAQ, careers, senior living, and these legal pages.
Manual contrast measurement of text against its actual rendered background, including where decorative overlays sit on top of a coloured panel and change it.
Manual keyboard checks of the navigation, mobile menu and forms.
That assessment found no problems with page structure, landmarks, form labels, link names, image alternatives or keyboard operation, and no colour contrast failures on any page type. What we know is still outstanding is listed above — chiefly that we have not yet tested with a screen reader.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared by The BFF Club Dog Care LLC on October 31, 2026, based on a self-assessment. It will be reviewed again when this site goes live on our main address, and at least annually after that.
